When buying military surplus clothing and equipment, there are three 'grades' that may apply. Generally speaking, we only sell the top grade clothing or equipment - these are products that are brand new and have never been issued yet alone used. Not all products fit this description and they are marked as either Grade 1 or Grade 2.
Grade 1 products are either new but with slight defects (that don't affect the intended use), or items that have been issued and either worn once or not at all. Products marked as Grade 1 are closely inspected to ensure they meet our quality standards and that they are fit for the use to which they were intended.
Grade 2 products are those products that don't fit into that Grade 1 category. These products may be used slightly and may have minor marks, however, like Grade 1 products, Grade 2 products are fit for their intended use - any blemishes are cosmetic in nature and not technical.
A careful check of our website will show that almost all of our products are currently in the new and unused category. The benefit of buying Grade 1 or 2 products is that of price - these products are often well discounted compared to many other sites. When buying military surplus items, keep an eye on the quality of the products being purchased. If they are marked as Grade 1 or Grade 2, you will at least know what those gradings mean.
