There are some group activities that require strong map reading abilities. Orienteering is one sport that is centred on map reading and youngsters involved with Guides or Scouts are taught early on how to read maps.

Rucksacks are a must for anyone who intends on going camping, more so if you need to hike to get to your camping spot. Rucksacks sit on the back and are used to carry almost all of the equipment, food, and water required while camping so they need to be well designed. 

Paintball has become a very popular sport in recent years. From the Outback to the UK and even across the seas in the USA, paintballers convene to shoot, kill, and take each other's flags. Which brings me to three of my favorite military topics: flags, tags (as in dog), and camouflage.
