Get some thick walking socks and go a tad oversized, you wont regret it.
Great ankle support too. As for lacing advice, I would recommend lacing the top 2nd to last not last, then pull them tight and lace the one below and tie. This gives your ankle a little bit more support. Try it! (Posted on 10/04/2012) - Comfortable, durable and as new conditionReview by ALi

I ride motorbikes and wanted a waterproof pair of boots, these fit that bill very well. They are in such new condition that I needed to break them in myself. This took about 2 weeks and now they are like a pair of slippers, however when lacing you should always lace to the top of the boot as this pulls your foot into the correct position and makes the boot more comfortable.Value Quality Price
They are excellent for walking in and your feet will be warm and dry with just normal sports socks on.
Sizing is a bit hit and miss due to the German Army sizing system.
I am a UK 10 which equates to 285 although the shop has this slightly different. I have owned several pairs of German boots (Army and Para) and have always been the same size 285, so be careful. They go up in units of 5 and to be on the safe side you may want to order 5 oversize (thick socks anyone?).
Overall these boots are brilliant my only gripe is the insoles which I replaced with my own. The standard ones are OK but they are second hand.
